POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
UNL DEPARTMENT OF EARTH AND ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES


The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to study the impact of surface fluxes on rain-on-snow (ROS) events and improve their representation in numerical models. The position is for two years, renewable each year based on performance and dependent on continued funding. The successful candidate will be expected to perform simulations of case studies of ROS events using the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) and test the sensitivity of these events to the representation of surface processes in the model.


Minimum Required Qualifications:
· Ph.D. in atmospheric science or a closely related discipline
· Prior research experience
· Strong oral and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstrated interest and knowledge in land-atmosphere processes
· Experience designing, performing, and analyzing numerical experiments using WRF
· Involvement in related professional activities
