Dr. Jessica Tierney at the University of Arizona is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on an NSF-funded project concerning paleoclimate data assimilation. The official posting can be found here:
https://arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/16730?c=arizona
The project aims to constrain cloud and convective parameter choices in the NASA GISS family of Earth system models using paleoDA of the LGM and mid-Holocene and isotope-enabled perturbed parameter model ensembles. The postdoc would work closely with GISS collaborators and co-PIs at William Paterson University as well as another postdoc at William Paterson.
The ideal candidate is proficient in coding (Python, Julia, or Matlab), has experience with handling model output, and familiarity with paleoclimate proxy data. We seek someone who can start ASAP, ideally by January 2024.
Postdoc positions renew year-to-year at the University of Arizona, but there are two years of funding available to support this position. The position comes with full health care benefits.
Please contact Jessica Tierney: jesst at arizona.edu<mailto:jesst at arizona.edu> for any questions.
