Dear Colleagues,
If you or your teammates are interested in multidisciplinary
cross-training in a genes-to-ecosystems (and back again!) framework,
consider the *EMERGE Institute Summer Program* in 2023, flyer attached.
The program is open to *all scientists* with a BS and above, and spans
the foundational concepts of many of the disciplines (from molecular
biology to remote sensing) that intersect in holistic ecosystem
characterization, as well as the essential training to work successfully
in complex scientific teams.
Training occurs in 2 intensive weeks (1 in-person in New Hampshire, 1
virtual) and ongoing virtually over the following year.
Supported by the National Science Foundation, /*participation is fully
covered for US citizens and permanent residents.*/ (Interested
non-residents/citizens with funding may be considered as space permits,
and should apply indicating their self-funded status.)
This unique opportunity aims to teach participants what they need to
work collaboratively on understanding environmental feedbacks on a
changing planet - a knowledge gap that humanity needs scientists to
bridge for mitigation of, and adaptation to, climate change.
Cheers,
Ruth
