The Atmospheric Sciences program within the Department of Physics at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a research focus in improving numerical weather and/or climate prediction. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: (a) improving physical process parameterizations (e.g., microphysics, convection, aerosol-cloud interactions, radiation, etc.), (b) coupling of climate system components (e.g., land-atmosphere interactions, fire-atmosphere interactions, etc.), (c) constraining simulations with observations (e.g., data assimilation). This position will complement current strengths in observations of atmospheric processes within the Department of Physics and have opportunities to work with colleagues in the Department of Geography and in the Division of Atmospheric Sciences at the Desert Research Institute.
