Two graduate student positions focusing on satellite precipitation research
Dr. Yalei You’s research group (https://uncw.edu/earsci/yaleiyou.html) in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of North Carolina Wilmington is currently seeking two graduate students to begin as soon as Fall, 2023. The candidates’ research, supported by grants from NASA and NOAA, will be broadly related to satellite precipitation measurement and validation.
A Bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, meteorology, civil / environmental engineering, geography, physics, or a closely related field is required. Strong analytical skills and experience in computer programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, C) are preferred (though not required). International applicants should have verbal and written proficiency in English. Prospective students should possess a strong work ethic and be capable of working independently in a diverse environment. The successful applicants will receive a full tuition waiver, a competitive monthly stipend, and benefits.
