*Spend your summer collecting ecological data in the California mountains!*
The FOCAL Lab <https://focal-lab.org/> at the University of California,
Davis is recruiting a crew leader for a study aiming to understand
post-fire recovery processes in the forests of northern California. The
crew will collect data on post-fire regenerating vegetation and overstory
canopy condition. Collected data will also be used to validate the use of
drone imagery for forest mapping. The fieldwork will occur across multiple
recent wildfires, as well as unburned forest, and will provide an
opportunity to experience a diversity of California mountain landscapes and
post-fire conditions. The position will begin in early June, 2023, and last
for at least 16 weeks, with potential for extension. Compensation is
approx. $22.39/hour (base rate). The work schedule of 8 10-hour days

hourly rate is expected to be at least $24/hour. For full position details
