Fri Feb 10 14:29:00 MST 2023

We are recruiting 1) one postdoctoral researcher, and 2) one graduate
student (PhD or MS) to work on an integrated assessment of climate change
impacts to water infrastructure at coastal sites. In collaboration with a
second graduate student, this team will work to develop and demonstrate the
application of an integrated suite of models to analyze the impacts of
rising sea and/or groundwater levels, increasing groundwater salinity, and
changing precipitation patterns on drinking water, stormwater, and
wastewater infrastructure at coastal sites. Selected candidates will be
advised by and work closely with Carolyn Voter, Holly Michael, and Paul
Imhoff at the University of Delaware as well as Larry Trout at Straughan
Environmental, Inc. The anticipated start date is June 2023 or soon
thereafter.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

Candidates should have or anticipate receiving a PhD in civil/environmental
engineering, water resources engineering, hydrology, earth sciences, or a
related field by the start date and have a strong background in water
resources modeling (stormwater, groundwater, and/or wastewater). Experience
with SWMM, MODFLOW, python, and/or wastewater process models are a plus, as
is experience working with open, reproducible workflows. In addition to
actively developing integrated models to support climate resiliency, the
selected postdoc will have opportunities to develop skills in project
management and coordination of model development.

GRADUATE STUDENT

Candidates should have a background in civil/environmental engineering,
water resources engineering, hydrology, earth sciences, or a related field.
Experience with field work (e.g., groundwater/stormwater monitoring) and/or
coding (e.g., python, R, Matlab) is a plus. The selected student will work
most closely with data collection and processing for screening-level
analysis, but depending on interest, opportunities may exist to work on
model development as well.

TO APPLY

Please email your CV and a short statement about your interest to Carolyn
Voter (cvoter at udel.edu), Holly Michael (hmichael at udel.edu), and Paul Imhoff
(imhoff at udel.edu). We will review applications as we receive them until the
positions are filled.
