TWO brand new Biogeochemistry Postdoc positions open at LLNL to work on soil-based solutions for carbon mitigation and climate impact reduction as part of new multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional projects! Please share widely!

POSITION 1: This soil biogeochemistry postdoc will use 14C-based approaches, including compound class and compound specific 14C to assess the fate of C sequestered in agricultural soils with strategies including polyculture, conversion to perennials, enhanced rooting phenotypes, biochar and compost amendments, and rock dust amendments. We're specifically looking for someone excited to use 14C analysis alongside LC-MS/GC-MS compound separation techniques to collaborate with a large interdisciplinary and multi-institutional team to meet the grand challenges posed by climate change. POSITION 2: This ecosystem biogeochemistry postdoc will assess CO2 drawdown by different plant species, including deeply rooted and perennial grasses, using state-of-the-art flux monitoring in a unique suburban carbon garden. We're specifically looking for someone excited to use CO2 flux tower and chamber measurements to test hypotheses and communicate science. Apply here:
