Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews (UK).

The successful candidate will work with Dr Mike Byrne to advance physical understanding of extreme temperatures using a hierarchy of climate models, observational data and physical theory. The position is part of a wider ERC/UKRI project known as “GLOBAL-EX”, and the successful candidate will have flexibility to work on aspects of the project that align with their specific research interests and experience. The initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and availability of funding.
