Polar Field Services, Inc. in Littleton, CO is looking to hire a full-time Science Support Manager. The Science Support Manager will oversee the complete lifecycle of science project management process for all NSF (National Science Foundation) funded/NSF supported projects funded for the ARSLS (Arctic Research Support & Logistics Services) program. This includes management and oversight of the science project management process and supervision of the Polar Field Services (PFS) Science Project Managers. The science project management lifecycle/process includes all stages of science project planning from proposal estimate development, funded project planning, reporting, project closeout, and metrics. The Science Support Manager will be a key member of the Battelle Project Management Office (PMO) and a successful candidate will be experienced in polar logistics and project controls. This is a full-time position based at the PFS office in Littleton, CO.

DOES THIS JOB SOUND EXCITING?
As the Science Support Manager, you oversee all aspects of science processes for funded science, from project initiation to out brief.  You'll oversee a team of Science Project Managers and be the primary POC for PFS, NSF, Battelle, and other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SCIENCE SUPPORT MANAGER

  *   BS/BA and ten years of relevant work experience
     *   Within those 10 years, a minimum of 5 years of experience in staff management/supervision and 5 years in project management, which can overlap.
  *   PMP Certification
     *   Employment is contingent upon receiving the certification within 6 months of the hire date Broad management and leadership experience, specifically leading remote teams and operations.
  *   Authorization to work in the U.S.
  *   Possession of current and valid US passport & driver's license
  *   Covid-19 vaccination
Knowledge of polar environments, remote fieldwork, logistics, and/or science support preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE FOR A SCIENCE SUPPORT MANAGER
This is a 40-hour position based at our dog-friendly office in Littleton, CO with work-from-home/telecommute flexibility. There will be some annual travel including getting to travel to the Arctic field sites your team supports. (1-2 trips annually; 2 consecutive weeks at a time)
