[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoc position on tropical climate dynamics and regional hydroclimate at the University of Houston

The Climate Dynamics and Modeling lab at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston invites applications for one postdoctoral position in tropical climate dynamics and/or regional hydroclimate. Potential research areas include atmosphere-ocean interactions, ENSO dynamics and modeling, tropics-extratropics teleconnections, attribution of regional precipitation changes, or other topics mutually agreed upon. Appointment will be initially for one year and can be extended up to four years contingent upon satisfying performance. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Honghai Zhang. The starting date is flexible.


Qualifications:

       PhD (by the time of appointment) in atmospheric sciences, physical oceanography, or related disciplines
       Experience with numerical models (such as CESM) (preferred but not required)
       Programming skills to analyze large datasets
