PhD positions, fully funded
The Climate Dynamics and Modeling lab at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston (https://uh.edu/nsm/earth-atmospheric/) is seeking 1-2 PhD students in tropical climate dynamics and/or regional hydroclimate. Potential research topics include atmosphere-ocean interactions, ENSO dynamics and modeling, tropics-extratropics teleconnections and regional precipitation changes. The students will be advised by Prof. Honghai Zhang. The expected starting date is Spring/Fall 2023.
Qualifications:

  *           B.S. or M.S. degree in math, physics, atmospheric sciences or physical oceanography
  *           Programming skills in Fortran, MATLAB, Python, NCL or other similar languages
  *           Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm for climate research
  *           Excellent skills in written and oral English
