Dear all,

I have an open position to join my group at the University of Arkansas for
a postdoc to synthesize and model CH4 flux datasets from rice agriculture
sites, funded by the NASA Carbon Monitoring Program
<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcce-datasharing.gsfc.nasa.gov%2Fcmsprojects%2Flist%2Fh%2F0%2F&data=04%7C01%7Cbrrunkle%40uark.edu%7C3e886ac44b59485107ad08d9488c0c51%7C79c742c4e61c4fa5be89a3cb566a80d1%7C0%7C0%7C637620588610339283%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=CGhDdyLHsoQRvtj5Udfh32BvbsC8QZx%2FffSt0NTSb3c%3D&reserved=0>.

*Summary of Job Duties:*

The Post Doctoral Fellow’s job duties will contribute to a funded research
project by synthesizing and modeling CH4 flux datasets from a large number
of eddy covariance measurement stations, focusing on production-scale rice
agriculture. Field visits may be conducted in irrigated and non-irrigated
agricultural fields in Arkansas and other states. The project will
investigate the impacts of land cover and management practices on the
surface energy balance, biophysical properties, carbon uptake, and
greenhouse gas emissions. The Post Doctoral Fellow will interface with
scientists from a number of institutions and disciplines. The ultimate aim
is to advance scientific understanding by modeling CH4 fluxes using remote
sensing and other geospatial inputs and validate them at the field scale
with the eddy covariance inputs.

* Qualifications:*

*Minimum Qualifications:*

   - Ph.D. in disciplines such as biological, biosystems, ecological or
environmental engineering, ecology, environmental science, geography,
geosciences, or a closely related field
   - Demonstrated experience (research presentations, thesis, or
publications) with high frequency micrometeorological datasets, remote
sensing of landscape processes, or modeling of biogeochemical processes
   - Computer skills with python, R, Matlab, or a related language

*Preferred Qualifications: *

   - Good scientific communication skills as evidenced by publications
   and/or presentations at conferences
   - Willingness to work both independently and in a collaborative team
   environment
   - Demonstrated experience with environmental data management

*Additional Information:*

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the
position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
