[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoc position in fire ecology & high-resolution imagery analysis, USGS and University of California, Davis

The UC Davis FOCAL Lab <https://changingforests.com/> (Dr. Derek Young) and
USGS (Dr. Phil van Mantgem) are recruiting a postdoc with strong data
science skills and background in forest and fire ecology to contribute to a
collaborative UC Davis-USGS research project evaluating early post-fire
dynamics in California mixed-conifer forests. The project involves analysis
of large geospatial datasets, including high-resolution drone and satellite
imagery, along with recently collected plot-based field data to
characterize fine-scale fire severity patterns and delayed mortality in
recent (2020-2021) large wildfires. Strong background in scripted (e.g., R-
or python-based) geospatial processing and statistical/machine learning
analysis of large remote sensing datasets is required. The position starts
in early 2023.
