[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoc position: Surrogate-based parameter and grid optimization to improve the QBO in E3SM

Dear colleagues,


This postdoc position is part of a 5-year, multi-laboratory collaboration funded by the DOE SciDAC program.  It aims to develop an efficient workflow to improve key climate modes of atmospheric variability -- in this case, focus is on the quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) as simulated in DOE's E3SM. The selected candidate will be positioned at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM and will work with world-leading experts in surrogate-based calibration and inference and will collaborate with other project postdocs on interfacing with E3SM simulations. This project involves a close collaboration between Sandia sites at Albuquerque and Livermore, Los Alamos National Lab, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
