The Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia (UGA)
invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of
Assistant Professor in Marine Conservation and Sustainability who will
apply artificial intelligence to focus on the science of protecting,
recovering and sustainably using coastal and marine resources. Possible
research areas include (but are not limited to) fisheries management,
marine protected areas, marine biodiversity, ocean health, and coastal
adaptation strategies. The candidate’s research program should involve
collection and analysis of large data sets, such as those from sensor
networks and automated samplers. This position is part of a cluster of
seven tenure-track faculty in Environmental Artificial Intelligence (AI)
through a Presidential Faculty Hiring Initiative. The position is located
on the main campus in Athens, GA and starts in August 2023. Applications
