I am seeking two postdoctoral research fellows to join our lab. One position will be working on understanding the causes of hydroclimate extremes in the Americas. The other position will be working on understanding the nature of global climate and hydroclimate variability from the last glacial period to the present; in this latter position you will also be collaborating closely with scientists at the University of Tübingen (Germany).

The work of these positions will primarily involve the statistical analysis of observations, paleoclimate data, climate model simulations, and global paleoclimate reconstructions. A PhD in climate, atmospheric, earth, or hydrological science (broadly defined) and experience statistically analysing large datasets using Python, Matlab, Julia, or R is preferred. The initial start date would ideally be sometime this summer, but it is flexible. The appointment will be for one year and may be renewed for additional years based on performance.

A diversity of experiences, backgrounds, political viewpoints, and ways of thinking are vital to our group and for the problems we solve--all are encouraged to apply. To apply, please email Nathan Steiger (nathan.steiger at mail.huji.ac.il) all application documents combined as a single PDF file: a cover letter describing your research interests and experience, a CV, and the names and contact information for at least three references. Review of applications will begin June 15th, 2022 and will continue until the positions are filled. Address any questions about the positions to Nathan Steiger (nathan.steiger at mail.huji.ac.il).
