    Overview

Develops, administers, and implements engineering support to maintain 
research programs at NOAA/ATDD in Oak Ridge, TN.


    Responsibilities

  * Assists others in installing, operating, and maintaining monitoring
    instruments and testing equipment necessary for meteorological
    experiments involving air, land, and water interactions.

  * Under direction, performs tests or experiments to test potential new
    instrumentation for utilization by NOAA/ATDD.

  * Assist to diagnose and resolve equipment failures and data quality
    issues.

  * Assist with data management, data processing, and data analysis for
    NOAA/ATDD projects.


    Qualifications

Associate’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field and 2-4 
years of job related experience. An equivalent combination of education 
and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the 
minimum requirements.

  * Performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions and established
    procedures.
  * Works under close supervision and work is reviewed for soundness of
    technical judgment and for following the defined policies and
    procedures.
  * Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and
    concepts.
  * Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
  * Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to
    achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on
    schedules and programs.
  * Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders,
    and other professionals in ATDD.
  * Must be able to travel up to 20%, carry 50 lbs, and obtaining
    climbing certification
  * Familiarity with weather related remote sensing instrumentation
    preferred.
