Description

The School of Life Sciences has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in stable isotope ecology and biogeochemistry to work with Professor Benoit Thibodeau from the Marine Biogeochemical Dynamics Laboratory.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline; (ii) excellent oral and written communication skills in English; and (iii) the ability to work independently and the willingness to participate in team-based interdisciplinary research. Strong background in stable isotopes techniques will be advantageous.

The appointee will investigate food web and nutrient sources partitioning in wetlands around Hong Kong using compound specific isotopes, which is part of a new project under the Environmental Conservation Fund. Duties include (a) field sampling; (b) data analysis and interpretation; and (c) preparing publications.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for two years.
