EPA's MOVES (MOtor Vehicle Emission Simulator) team has two job openings at
EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Position descriptions and links to the job announcements are provided
below. Note that the deadline for applying via www.usajobs.gov is
06/27/2022.

These are great opportunities to help improve the tools EPA uses to
estimate air pollution emissions. If you're interested and qualify, please
consider applying. We would also appreciate it if you can spread the word
to other potential candidates.

The first is in the Air Quality and Modeling Center as a GS-11 physical
scientist. Please see the posting (announcement number
RTP-LA-ODH-2022-0014) at https://www.usajobs.gov/job/660962100.

   - Assist in the scientific analysis of equipment population, activity,
   and emissions data from vehicles, engines, or fuels to create emissions
   models and inventories that support policy or regulatory development aimed
   at reducing pollution from the transportation sector;
   - Participate in the design, development, testing, maintenance, and
   support of computer models that estimate air pollution emissions and
   emission rates for cars, trucks, and other mobile equipment;
   - Conduct scientific/engineering searches and literature reviews to
   support the development of technical analysis, emission analysis plans,
   model development plans, technical guidance, or public information on the
   environmental impact of mobile source emissions;
   - Assist in delivering briefings and presentations comprised of
   technical, scientific, or engineering methods and analyses to both internal
   and external stakeholders;
   - Advise on the modeling and quantification of mobile source emissions
   (criteria pollutants, air toxics and greenhouse gases) from vehicles and
   their fuels, including life-cycle analyses.

The second is a GS-11 physical scientist/engineer in the Data and Testing
Center. The RTP-LA-ODH-2022-0015 posting can be found at
https://www.usajobs.gov/job/660966000.

   - Assist in the scientific and statistical analysis of activity and
   emissions data (criteria pollutants, air toxics and greenhouse gases) from
   vehicles, engines, or fuels to create emissions model inputs that support
   policy or regulatory development aimed at reducing pollution from the
   transportation sector;
   - Participate in work groups that develop and execute
   vehicle/engine/fuel test programs to collect emissions or activity data for
   the transportation sector;
   - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop an
   understanding of environmental issues and to formulate questions to
   investigate;
   - Conduct scientific/engineering searches and literature reviews to
   support the development of technical analysis, emission analysis plans,
   model development plans, technical guidance, or public information on the
   environmental impact of mobile source emissions.

Thank you,

Serena
