The Department of Land Resources and Environmental Science at Montana State
University is hiring.

Candidates should have outstanding research and teaching experience (or
potential) and fundamental training in a relevant remote sensing and
quantitative analysis field as applied to agricultural, environmental, or
natural resource issues.

The successful candidate will complement existing departmental strengths,
and be expected to develop a nationally competitive research program
supported by extramural grant funds. Examples of potential research foci
include ecosystem and landscape processes, environmental restoration,
climate change, environmental biology, pest ecology and management, and
sustainable and precision agricultural systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and
graduate courses that emphasize remote sensing and quantitative analysis.
The successful candidate will participate in high-quality graduate and
undergraduate programs, including undergraduate curricular advising,
undergraduate research advising, and training and mentoring of graduate
students with expectation of recruiting and funding doctoral students as a
priority.

The hiring department has a historically strong extramural funding ethic
and enterprise for supporting graduate students. Additional service
responsibilities include departmental citizenship and engagement with the
community consistent with the missions of a Land-Grant University and the
Montana Agricultural Experiment Station.
