Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Program Coordinator I for the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences. The position includes data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of acoustic-based data collected using autonomous ocean observing platforms for several ongoing and upcoming projects led by RUCOOL faculty. This position entails utilizing specialized software techniques to determine zooplankton and/or fish targets, abundance, and biomass from echosounder data. This position also includes the task of laboratory-based zooplankton sample analysis to integrate into the acoustic analytical approaches.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
* Responsible for management of the acoustic-related data, developing data products and writing supplementary text for a wide range of uses, presenting the data to different target audiences, and training graduate students on acoustic data analysis techniques and/or data interpretation.
* Perform professional work that requires general knowledge of oceanography and specialized knowledge of acoustic data analysis, data visualization and data interpretation.
* Have a solid understanding of the use and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applications of acoustic data analysis.
