Postdoctoral Position on Aerosol Nucleation Experiments at UAH

Summary: A post-doctoral research associate position is available in the Dept. of Atmospheric and Earth Sciences at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (USA), under the supervision of Prof. Shanhu Lee for research in laboratory kinetics experiments of multicomponent aerosol nucleation. The primary duties will involve the design of experimental apparatuses, execution of laboratory experiments of nucleation from natural and anthropogenic precursors using high-resolution time-of-flight chemical ionization mass spectrometers (HrTOF-CIMS) and state-of-the-art aerosol instruments, and publication/presentation of scientific findings. The initial appointment is one year, with the possibility of an extension of another two years, depending on the accomplishments. Salaries range from $55K-$60K, including the comprehensive package of the UAH health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications: Candidates with earned doctorates in chemistry, physics, atmospheric sciences, engineering, or other relevant disciplines are encouraged. Candidates are especially encouraged to apply who, in addition to the above qualifications, have experience in the operation of chemical ionization mass spectrometer and aerosol instruments or in new particle formation studies. Professional work ethics and communication skills are required.

To apply: Please submit your CV, PDF files of (up to) three publications, and names of three references to Shanhu.Lee at uah.edu <mailto:Shanhu.Lee at uah.edu> for consideration; apply for the position at the UAH care <https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fcareers.uah.edu%2Fcw%2Fen-us%2Fjob%2F497335%2Fresearch-associate-ii-step-4&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNHHnnmlpjlVuf87XQ1rgPsCANvR0A> er site. <https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fcareers.uah.edu%2Fcw%2Fen-us%2Fjob%2F497335%2Fresearch-associate-ii-step-4&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNHHnnmlpjlVuf87XQ1rgPsCANvR0A>
