Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE)  *

*Description:* This summer students will be a part of a large scale
chemistry experiment using the SOARS facility
<https://scripps.ucsd.edu/news/soars-readies-flight> at Scripps Institution
of Oceanography. The program is paid and is 10 weeks long starting late

*Benefits and Details*
- Mentoring from top CAICE faculty, postdocs & graduate students in the
CAICE network
- Conduct exciting hands-on scientific research in a large scale
collaborative research experiment
- 10 week program at UC San Diego starting June 2022
- Preparation for graduate school, attend field trips & symposiums
- Presentation of your research results to other students and faculty at
the conclusion of the program
- Receive a minimum stipend of $5000
- Reimbursement for out of town travel costs (up to $500)
- Housing at UC San Diego for full program duration

*Who Should Apply?*
-Application open to undergraduates with an interest in chemistry who would
like to participate in cutting edge CAICE research
- Women, students from historically marginalized groups, and military
veterans are strongly encouraged to apply
- Priority will be given to current 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates
- Students from community colleges are encouraged to apply
- Open to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents only
