Position Description:  We are seeking a research assistant (graduate or undergraduate) to work with our environmental research team. Our team seeks to understand the chemical and physical properties of the natural world, and how human activity impacts that world. Our largest emphasis is on atmospheric chemistry, including the unique air quality of the Uinta Basin. Duties for this position will include computer programming or chemical transport modeling to address the team’s needs.
Qualifications: No previous experience in the above areas is required. Previous experience in computer operation (Linux), using computer cluster, and/or programming (Python or MATLAB), and college-level coursework in science, math, and statistics are preferred. We seek applicants who have a proven record of taking charge of assignments, carrying them out with minimal supervision, and performing careful, thoughtful, and consistent work. Location:  Vernal, Utah (possibility of remote)
Hours:  Flexible, 15-29 hours per week
Pay:  Minimum $14 per hour (undergraduate) or a reasonable graduate stipend
