Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Environmental Science - Global Change

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Environmental Science focusing on Global Change (e.g., Climate Change, Sea Level Rise, Land Use Change, or Biogeochemical Cycles) and/or its effects at regional and local scales. We seek a colleague who will complement our existing strengths. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in GIS and Remote Sensing as well as courses in their own environmental science specialty. These courses are part of the curriculum of the following degrees: PhD in Earth and Energy Sciences, MSc in Environmental Resources, BSc in Environmental Science, and Certificate in GIS. The applicant must be capable of building a strong, externally-funded research program. The position involves mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels and engagement in School, College and University service. The applicant must also demonstrate institutional citizenship through active engagement at the school, college, university, community, and professional levels.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant must have a PhD or equivalent degree in Environmental Sciences or Geosciences by the time of appointment; post-doctoral research experience is desirable but not necessary.
Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations and in interdisciplinary teams. Applicants are expected to describe their commitment to fostering a diverse educational environment through their research, teaching, and/or service activities.

UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY: The School of Geosciences combines the programs of Geology and Environmental Sciences and includes 13 full-time faculty, 8 instructors and staff, and approximately 100 students.
