The Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering at The University of Arizona (UA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with anticipated start date in August 2023.

We seek an interdisciplinary scholar with a Ph.D. degree in a relevant engineering discipline or closely related discipline to develop a vibrant research program focused on the intersection of atmospheric sciences and environmental issues with an engineering-centric approach. Successful candidates will complement departmental and campus-wide strengths, and the University strategic plan, such as resilience and sustainability, in a broad area including physics and/or chemistry of atmospheric aerosol particles, indoor/outdoor air quality, mining -related environmental challenges, and/or atmospheric implications of climate change. The faculty member will be expected to form and maintain research and educational partnerships with cross- campus academic units in environmental sciences, geosciences, hydrology and atmospheric sciences, and other fields as appropriate. In addition, the faculty member will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
