Dear colleagues,

The Water Resources Research Center at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
invites applications for (2) Postdoctoral Research Scientists to conduct
research in the fields of hydrological modeling and forecasting. The
successful candidates would join a project funded by NOAA through the
Cooperative Institute for Research to Operations in Hydrology (CIROH
<https://ciroh.ua.edu/>) to improve hydrologic forecasting in Hawaii.

The two successful candidates will work on two different research projects:
one will be focused specifically on testing the Next Generation National
Water Model (NextGen NWM
<https://www.weather.gov/media/owp/oh/docs/2021-OWP-NWM-NextGen-Framework.pdf>)
for Hawaii, for example developing a portfolio of case studies for
different types of extreme weather events; the other will focus
specifically on evaluating and improving the forecasting of flash-flood
events in underserved communities in Hawaii.

For more details about the positions and how to apply, go to www.rcuh.com,
and select “Job Postings”. The position for the evaluation of the NetxGen
NWM can be found by searching for the code “222795”, whereas the other
position has code “222796”.

Thanks,
Giuseppe
