*Post-doctoral researcher in climate modelling of the Arctic Crysophere at
York University and Environment and Climate Change Canada, Toronto, Canada*

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher with technical expertise in
the cryosphere and climate modelling to provide climate model projections
of key cryosphere variables (snow, freshwater ice, sea ice) and their
drivers (temperature, precipitation) at the regional and community-level
scales across the Canadian Arctic that can be used to better understand the
impacts, risks, and adaptation options available to support safe local and
regional marine and overland mobilities. This is a transdisciplinary
project with active collaboration from Chris Derksen, Steve Howell, and
Lawrence Mudryk from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Jackie Dawson
from the University of Ottawa, and Iestyn Woolway from Bangor University.

Funding is available for 2 years. The successful applicant will have a PhD
in ecology, limnology, applied statistics, climate science, or a relevant
field, experience harmonizing large datasets collected from different
sources, technical expertise acquiring and analysing large-scale climate
data, advanced data analytical skills in R, Python, or Matlab, and the
ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Applications are due on May 15, 2022. Preferred start date is July 1, 2022,
but the starting date is negotiable. Applicants should submit a cover
letter detailing their relevant background and experiences, a CV, and names
and contact information for three references. Only those applicants
selected for consideration will be contacted for an online interview. Inquiries
about the position and applications may be sent with the header: Cryosphere
