Duties:
As Physical Scientist within the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program, some of your specific duties will include but are not limited to:

Supports Program Coordinator in the guidance and oversight of the FEDMAP, STATEMAP, EDMAP and Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI) program components by:

1. Assisting in the review of proposals
2. Assisting in the authoring of technical reports, maps and scientific graphics
3. Analyzing geologic, geophysical, borehole and geochronologic data
4. Monitoring program research and mapping activities to analyze trends, extract and summarize program data
5. Writing sections of program status reports, and performing Geographic Information System analyses of diverse geoscience datasets

  *   Assists NCGMP leadership by performing routine tasks in the conduct of FEDMAP, STATEMAP, and EDMAP program analysis studies of operating program components.
  *   Assists in analyzing and evaluating data concerning financial plans for FEDMAP, STATEMAP, and EDMAP program components.
  *   Assists the Associate Program Coordinator in managing the NCGMP Webpage by converting Program content into workable USGS Web pages, updating and maintaining pages with current FEDMAP, STATEMAP, EDMAP and Earth MRI program information
  *   Assists all Program staff to perform mission- essential functions by helping with the execution of day-to-day tasks required to support all Program components.

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel an average of 1-2 nights per month for this position.
