We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with a diverse team of geoscientists, geoengineers, and social scientists on an NSF-funded project aimed at to identifying, empowering, and rewarding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) champions within the geosciences by aligning hiring, promotion, award, and other evaluation systems with institutional and community goals to promote diversity and inclusion within the Geosciences. The postdoc will work with the proposal team to analyze survey and interview data investigating faculty motivations to engage in DEI work in the geosciences and how DEI efforts fit within evaluation, tenure, promotion, and award frameworks.
This is an 18-month postdoc. We expect the postdoc to spend 0.75 FTE working on this project, with the remaining 0.25 FTE available to pursue other research interests. Compensation includes $50,000 salary/year and health insurance coverage, as well as paid time off and other benefits, including access to NCFDD professional development programs. We are open to flexible work arrangements, including a possible remote postdoc.
