Hello!

The Department of Forestry at Mississippi State University is hiring a
Project Coordinator for a USDA funded project of soil carbon monitoring
efforts through the Conservation Research Program. Our team will be
partnering with Alabama A&M University to collect above and below ground
data at 162 sites across seven states documenting CRP-related benefits to
soil and atmospheric carbon levels. Information will help further calibrate
the DayCent model with a focus on the Mississippi Delta and Southeast
states. Details of the position below.

Position Function: This position will coordinate logistics and information
between principal investigators, crew leads, USDA central offices, FSA
field offices, and landowners to support scheduled completion of project
deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will
include coordinating logistics for multiple field crews to travel to over
150 field sites across multiple states in the southeastern U.S. by working
with USDA central personnel, local FSA personnel, landowners, field crew
leaders, PIs and Mississippi State University travel administrators.

The above essential duties are representative of major duties in this
position. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon
departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent
with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of
the duties may be assigned to a position.

Additional responsibilities include assisting the Project Director in
preparing quarterly and
annual reports, budget tracking, maintaining a calendar of deadlines,
organizing meetings,
cataloging project data, developing presentations and other tasks as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree with Focus in
Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Economics,
or related field.

Experience: Three (3) years related essential duties and responsibilities
listed above.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Forestry, Natural Resources,
Environmental Science, Agriculture, Economics or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Ability to use independent judgement.
-Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
-Strong communication skills.
-Ability to communicate professionally with diverse groups.
-Knowledge and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
and Outlook).
-Excellent communications skills (written and oral).
