*PhD/MS research position in air quality modeling at NC State*

A graduate research assistant position is available in the Department of
Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State
University starting Fall 2022 (or earlier if preferred). The student will
have the opportunity to work on local to global modeling and explore the
connections between air pollution, climate, and environmental policy.
Potential projects include analyzing the air pollution impacts of wildland
fire and land management, studying the impacts of climate change on air
quality and health, and developing new environmental modeling methods.

At NC State, students will be part of one of the largest environmental
engineering programs in the U.S. and a vibrant research community
addressing a wide range of policy-relevant topics. NC State is also a great
place to undertake air pollution research. Students will have opportunities
to interact with many researchers working on air quality and environmental
modeling across different academic departments and institutions. The
Triangle region offers excellent research and career-related resources for
air pollution engineers. In addition, Raleigh is an excellent place to live.

Financial support for graduate students covers tuition and salary while
they complete their degrees. Graduate applications should be submitted to
the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering,
preferably by Dec. 15. Applicants can indicate a preference for the
Environmental, Water Resources, and Coastal Engineering or Computing and
Systems program areas (
https://www.ccee.ncsu.edu/academics/graduate-programs/admission/).
Potential students interested in applying are encouraged to contact me
directly (f_garcia at ncsu.edu) to discuss research possibilities.
