Dear colleagues,

I am advertising a fully-funded PhD project to work on extreme temperatures at the University of St Andrews.

The project will combine theory, idealised simulations and analyses of state-of-the-art climate models. The position will be based in the Climate Dynamics Lab<https://sites.google.com/tcd.ie/michaelbyrne/home> at St Andrews, and the start date will be approximately September 2022.

The PhD position is suitable for a student with an undergraduate/masters degree or equivalent in physics, mathematics, engineering, atmospheric science, computer science, or a related field. A strong background in mathematics and physics is more important than previous experience in climate science. Please email me at mpb20 at st-andews.ac.uk<mailto:mpb20 at st-andews.ac.uk> for further details.

Best regards,

Mike
