The Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of North Dakota is seeking qualified applicants, for a non-tenured teaching faculty position, with a focus on teaching multiple sections of a large introductory meteorology class and managing numerous lab sections.  This will be filled at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level, within the Department of Atmospheric Sciences.  Service (5-10% effort) is also expected with an optional research component (20%).
This is a 9-month full time benefitted position, contingent on available funding. The position is for a 3-year term and is renewable, contingent on performance and funding availability.  Salary for the 9-month full time Instructor level begins at $60,000 and will be commensurate with experience.  Additional funding for summer term teaching is available.  Preference will be given to those who have previously taught intro-level courses with content expertise in undergraduate meteorology and demonstrated expertise in teaching pedagogy, including online teaching.
A review of applications will begin Tuesday 15 June 2021 and the position will remain open until filled.  The start date of the appointment is 1 January 2022.  Passing a criminal history records check, and completion of a M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences or related field is required.
