This person works primarily with undergraduates to advise them as they 
progress through the degree and is an integral part of the department, 
helping to shape the curriculum and work with faculty and staff to make 
sure students are achieving learning goals.

I'll also add that our department has a growing environmental 
geosciences emphasis, and it's the fastest growing portion of our major 
in terms of student enrollment and interest.
