POSITION SUMMARY:	
The Nelson Institute Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE; nelson.wisc.edu/sage) is seeking an Outreach Specialist to manage digital and in-person communication for the NASA Health and Air Quality Applied Science Team (HAQAST.org), organize scientific workshops, and serve as the primary point of contact with NASA and our team of collaborators.

POSITION DUTIES:	
The Outreach Specialist will manage digital and in-person communication for the NASA Health and Air Quality Applied Science Team (HAQAST.org), organize scientific workshops, and serve as the primary point of contact with NASA program managers, collaborators, communications staff and stakeholders. The position requires working closely with Prof. Tracey Holloway, who leads HAQAST, a national network to advance utilization of NASA data.

DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:	
Bachelors degree required; Masters or Ph.D. preferred. Must have education, training and/or experience in scientific or technical communication.

MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:	
Applicants with a Ph.D will not have a minimum experience threshold. Applicants with B.S. or M.S. must have 3+ years post-degree experience in research administration, stakeholder relations, event coordination, website development or scientific/technical writing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:	
Other desired skills and experiences include: * Strong writing and communication skills * coursework or communications experience in physical and/or environmental sciences (e.g. chemistry, environmental science, engineering, etc.). * Maturity, professionalism, and an ability to work as part of a team.* Some knowledge of air quality, atmospheric chemistry, meteorology, public health and/or satellite data analysis desirable but not required.
