THRIVNER | SENIOR CONSULTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION 

Organization: For the past 14 years Thrivner, Inc. has successfully provided science and technology policy expertise to a wide variety of customers – academic institutions, non-profits, states, and federal government agencies. Our customers are as different as the outcomes we have produced, which range from developing programs to devising and implementing legislative strategies to overhauling technology transfer processes to macro and micro communications and many, many things not listed here. Opportunity: Thrivner, Inc. is in search of a credentialed professional who can support program development and implementation for our customers. This requires content knowledge about the science and policy aspects of the ocean, oceanography, public safety, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, resilience, mitigation, water availability and quality, among other environmentally relevant topics. The successful candidate will support program development and implementation; national and state-wide conferences and committees; and intra-agency, interagency, intergovernmental, and public-private groups. 

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the skills necessary for developing, implementing, and coordinating programs; balancing strategic and tactical needs simultaneously; facilitating answers to national science and technology policy questions; managing effective internal and external communication; and providing expert logistical facilitation while also handling the intra-agency, interagency, and intergovernmental implications. 

Experience/Education: Sufficient experience and education to successfully perform the duties. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess at least ten years’ experience working in a management consulting or program development role. Position also requires knowledge of U.S. Government agencies and, preferably, experience in environmental science, ocean policy, climate change adaptation, resilience, and mitigation; science and technology policy; and interagency and national work groups.
