The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (Seattle, Washington) seeks a qualified,
motivated, team-oriented Air Resource Specialist to improve regional air
quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Puget Sound Region. The
specialist will work closely with colleagues on the Planning, Analysis, and
Forecasting team, with direction from the Technical Analysis department
manager.

The Air Resource Specialist position is a unique opportunity for a
dedicated individual to use their skills to help support the Puget Sound
Clean Air Agency’s goals to protect public health and the environment from
air pollution and become the most climate-friendly region in the United
States.

The Air Resource Specialist will develop policy options to improve air
quality and reduce air pollution in the Puget Sound. This position also
performs technical analyses in support of innovative multi-pollutant
planning and implementation work, and conducts daily air quality forecasts
and provides key support to the Agency’s mitigation programs. The
specialist will:

• Work closely with internal and external partners to identify, evaluate,
and implement strategies that reduce harmful air pollution and GHG
emissions from transportation in our region.

• Evaluate and analyze air monitoring data, understand dispersion and other
air quality modeling results, and conduct emissions inventories as needed.

• Author and edit technical reports that synthesize complex technical
information into coherent policy/strategy options for review and use by a
broad-based audience.

• Communicate technical information clearly to a variety of internal and
external audiences.

• Work with internal staff and external partners on projects related to
making air quality more equitable for our region, including serving on a
Focus Area team.

• Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with appropriate
counterparts in other agencies, community organizations, and other
entities.

• Develop ideas and find ways to make air quality more equitable in our
region for underrepresented communities.

• Develop, implement, and manage project plans that support the Agency’s
strategic priorities.

• Develop technical tools to communicate air quality concepts, working
closely with information technology (IT) colleagues.

• Provide technical and/or general assistance to internal and external
customers.

• Participate in meteorological and air quality forecasting, as needed.

• Align and integrate project work with the Agency’s strategic plan to
attain Agency goals, objectives, and long-term vision.
