Senior Climate Risk Assessment Specialist


Overview


The Senior Climate Risk Management Consultant will work with multiple
federal DoD and civilian government clients, using the latest climate
science, assessments, and projections to identify and assess
mission-specific risks and develop risk mitigation strategies and
recommendations from an asset to portfolio level.  This position will
support climate adaptation and resilience programs for multiple, diverse
projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.  The primary work
location is LMI Headquarters in Tysons, VA with occasional visits to client
sites in the greater Washington, DC area. 


Responsibilities


*	Providing technical climate science expertise across integrated
project teams, assessing climate risk in a diverse array of near and long
term strategic planning activities including, but not limited to, master
planning; facility design, construction, and operations; energy resilience,
fleet management, national security, BRAC, workforce planning, supply
chains, and mission critical infrastructure.
*	Conducting technical research on a broad range of climate hazards,
risks, and risk mitigation strategies as well as environmental and
sustainability topics including, but not limited to, sustainable building
technologies, energy and water efficiency, climate change adaptation and
mitigation, environmental remediation technologies, and analytical methods.
*	Providing project management support to ensure projects are
delivered on time and on budget
*	Compiling, analyzing, and managing large, complex data sets and
translating into succinct presentations, reports, and policy recommendations
for diverse federal stakeholders.
*	Preparing climate adaptation plans and risk assessments and working
with subject matter experts to develop well-informed risk mitigation
strategies.
*	Tracking and assessing impact of climate and environmental policies,
procedures, and processes at the federal government, state government, and
federal intra-agency level.
*	Demonstrating LMI capabilities to current and potential federal
clients to support capability and business development goals. Scheduling,
managing, and documenting client engagements.
*	Supporting LMI Mid-level and Senior  Consultants  with day-to-day
program activities including, but not limited to:
*	Pursuing opportunities to demonstrate LMI thought leadership in
climate risk management through publications, conference speaking events,
and public and private climate-related forums.


Qualifications


*	Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, geology,
chemistry, or other physical science.
*	Minimum of 10 years' experience in an environmental and/or
sustainability field, which may include up to 1 year of internship.
*	Demonstrated personal and professional interest and leadership in
climate change risk management and a strong ability to translate complex
scientific data relevant to a client's specific mission, portfolio, and/or
assets.
*	Strong skills in MS Office applications. Advanced analytical
abilities in MS Excel required. Experience with Tableau and Access
preferred.
*	Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop
climate risk solutions including development of decision support frameworks
and analytic tools that integrate within existing LMI and/or client systems,
processes, and protocols.
*	Strong technical reading, writing, and proofreading skills in
performing quality assessment/quality control.
*	Demonstrated professionalism in client settings, including
interpersonal and presentation skills.
*	Ability to work independently. Must be able to prioritize tasks,
meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and efficiently manage time across
multiple tasks.
*	Working knowledge of current federal and state climate and
environmental policy/regulations.
*	Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by
demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork and fostering positive
communication. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships in
LMI's multidisciplinary environment.
*	Availability for travel as required. Limited local travel to client
sites in Washington, DC is typical.
*	Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government
security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants
with current security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security
