The Hawaii Chapter is searching for a Senior Coral Reef Resilience Scientist.

The Senior Coral Reef Resilience Scientist designs scientific studies, surveys, and assessments; collects, manages, and analyzes coastal and marine data; prepares reports and publications to disseminate conservation science findings; and guides, manages, and coordinates scientific investigations with Marine and other conservation program staff.

The Senior Coral Reef Resilience Scientist works with the Director of Marine Science to ensure that TNC's marine conservation and restoration work in Hawaii is informed by the best available science. They work collaboratively with other TNC staff (in Hawaii, across the US, and internationally), partner communities and organizations, and government agencies to build effective marine conservation and restoration programs for Hawaii. They may liaise for the Hawaii Program with local and international scientists and scientific organizations; provide technical and scientific support as a subject matter resource for marine conservation and restoration initiatives; participate in the planning and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in marine conservation and restoration science; apply diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields; participate in scientific meetings and workshops relevant to TNC's Hawaii marine priorities; design and implement scientific studies within project sites necessary to meet TNC's threat-abatement, conservation management, and coral restoration objectives; respond to Requests for Proposals; and write and/or provide scientific information for grant requests and reports.

Ideally, this position will be based out of a TNC office located in Hawai'i but other locations may be considered.
