[ES_JOBS_NET] Fwd: Postdoc position on precipitation extremes at UGA

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to a project focused
on simulating extreme storms and precipitation events in the US using
state-of-the-art Earth system models. The researcher will join Dr. Gabe
Kooperman's (kooperman at uga.edu) research group in the Department of
Geography at the University of Georgia, and will have the opportunity to
work closely with several collaborators: Dr. Kevin Reed (Stony Brook
University), Dr. Walter Hannah (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory),
and Dr. Angie Pendergrass (Cornell University).

The position requires a PhD in atmospheric/climate science or a related
field by September 1, 2021. Candidates should have a record of publishing
in respected journals and presenting at conferences. Experience conducting
experiments with Earth system models and statistical analysis of extreme
events is desirable. The researcher will be responsible for: compiling
simulation and observational data, analyzing results, writing manuscripts,
presenting results, and helping to develop new proposals.
