The UCLA Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences has an opportunity for an enthusiastic postdoctoral scholar in seismology to work on the NASA InSight mission. The postdoc will work directly with Prof. Caroline Beghein and will interact and collaborate with scientists within the InSight team. The successful candidate will be involved in undergraduate and graduate student mentoring and will benefit from a strong group of colleagues in geophysics and planetary sciences at UCLA. Start date: as soon as possible.

Candidates must hold a PhD in seismology by the time of hire. The successful applicant must have experience in strong experience in programming, broadband seismic data processing, analysis of seismic waveforms, a strong record of peer-reviewed publication, and demonstrated capability of independent research. The postdoc must be creative and able to work and communicate in a team environment. Experience with inversion of seismic data to model structure is desirable. The candidate must be fluent in English and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Applicants from underrepresented groups in the geosciences are particularly encouraged to apply. 

The position is initially for a 12-month period, renewable depending upon performance and funding availability.
