Greetings,
The Congressional Research Service would like to share this career opportunity with you and your network.
I am pleased to announce that The Library of Congress, Congressional Research Service (CRS) recently launched its 2021 Graduate Recruit Program. This 2021 competitive program offers librarian and research analyst opportunities across a variety of issue areas including public finance, foreign affairs, research librarian, science and technology and legislative information management.
CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. As shared staff to congressional committees and Members of Congress CRS experts assist at every stage of the legislative process—from the early considerations that precede bill drafting, through committee hearings and floor debate, to the oversight of enacted laws and various agency activities. As a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress, CRS has been a valued and respected resource on Capitol Hill for more than a century. Its highest priority is to ensure that Congress has immediate access to the nation's best thinking on public policy issues of interest to its Members and committees.
The program is open to students currently enrolled in an advanced degree program. Initial appointments of up to 120 days will begin in the summer of 2021. Selectees who perform successfully may be considered for permanent placement with CRS at the end of the summer or whenever they complete their graduate degree requirements.
A complete listing of positions, eligibility requirements, announcement closing dates, and salary information is available on the CRS Careers website: http://www.loc.gov/crsinfo/opportunities/graduate-recruit.html. Application instructions and selection and evaluation criteria can be found in each vacancy announcement.
The Graduate Recruit Program seeks to attract a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. I hope you will alert your graduate students to this unique employment opportunity. Should you have any questions or require any additional information about the Program, please reach us at CRSGraduateRecruit at crs.loc.gov<mailto:CRSGraduateRecruit at crs.loc.gov>.
