The Department of Geography and the Environment at Syracuse University is seeking a student interested in pursuing PhD research in climate science and/or climate change impacts, starting in fall 2021. The prospective student could pursue research on the drivers and impacts of extreme heat, agriculture-climate interactions, or related topics. Prospective students should have a strong interest in climate science and in the use of climate data analytics to understand how human societies and systems are affected by climate variability and change. Programming experience is beneficial (but not required), particularly in Python, R, or Matlab. PhD students are guaranteed funding for a minimum of 4 years including a 12-month stipend, full tuition support, and benefits.
