2 Postdoctoral Fellow Positions in Climate Change Science at ICCP

There are two openings for postdoctoral fellows at IBS Center for
Climate Physics to work with Dr. Christian Franzke on the dynamical
response of the atmosphere to global warming, modeling of extreme
weather and climate events and how they will change in a warmer world,
and the estimation and modeling of socio-economic damages due to weather
and climate extreme events and global warming. The successful candidates
will carry out and analyze CESM simulations, analyze data sets using
modern statistical and machine learning methods, and will develop new
numerical models.

     • Employer: IBS Center for Climate Physics
     • Location: Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea
     • Education Level: PhD

The IBS Center for Climate Physics (ICCP; http://iccp.ibs.re.kr)
directed by Dr. Axel Timmermann, is dedicated to advancing the
understanding of natural climate variability, man-made climate change
and their impacts on the hydrological cycle, regional processes,
ice-sheets, and sea level. The ICCP is generously funded through the
Institute for Basic Science (IBS) (http://ibs.re.kr). ICCP is located in
Busan, the second largest city in South Korea and the ninth largest port
city in the world. Surrounded by the ocean and mountains, the city has a
dramatic natural background. From designer cafes, international movie
