The new ​NSF AI Institute for Research on Trustworthy AI in Weather, Climate, and Coastal Oceanography (AI2ES) is looking for PhD students!

We are seeking PhD students at all of our member institutions:  AI2ES is led by the University of Oklahoma.  Partner institutions involve Colorado State University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, North Carolina State University, the University at Albany, the University of Washington and Del Mar College.  Apply to the school that you are interested in and mention our institute in your statement.

All of our institutions are looking for PhD students with expertise in the following areas:

• Artificial intelligence and machine learning (OU, CSU, TAMUCC)

• Atmospheric science, climate, or ocean science (OU, CSU, TAMUCC, NCSU, Albany)

• Risk communication (UW)

AI2ES will uniquely benefit humanity by developing novel, physically based AI techniques that are demonstrated to be trustworthy, and will directly improve prediction, understanding, and communication of high-impact environmental hazards.
