National Academies’ Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC)

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine<http://www.nationalacademies.org/> provide independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conduct other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions. The Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC) is the team that leads work related to climate change, meteorology, and air pollution. BASC staff also support projects led by the Polar Research Board (PRB) and other units conducting related work.

BASC is looking for an Associate Program Officer. In this role, you would lead one or more of BASC’s projects. This involves working with committees of leading experts to ensure that projects meet their stated objectives, organizing meetings and workshops, conducting background research and preparing clear summaries of relevant literature, and developing consensus documents that bring together multiple perspectives.
