Do you love geoscience? Do you love to do fieldwork? If you desire to be
part of a hard-working and fun-loving team within a customer-oriented and
collaborative environment supporting earth science research, then
UNAVCO's *Field
Engineer I* position may be the job for you.

For over three decades, UNAVCO has spearheaded the use of cutting-edge
technology while providing robust operational support for researchers
exploring tectonics (earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics), the
deformation of ice, the Earth's response to groundwater, sea level, and
aspects of the hydrosphere, and atmosphere. We operate the Geodetic
Facility for the Advancement of GeoScience, known as the GAGE Facility, and
host the NSF’s Geodesy Data Archive, which provides cyberinfrastructure to
support the full data life cycle and interoperability with other national
and international Earth science Data Centers. To learn more about UNAVCO,

The *Field Engineer I* position is an excellent opportunity for someone to
work on a myriad of interesting tasks with Principle
Investigators on project support for the National Science Foundation
Division of Earth Sciences (EAR) and the Office of Polar Programs (OOP)
within the Geoscience Directorate (GEO). UNAVCO operates a multinational
network of geophysical instrumentation on behalf of the National Science
Foundation. The Network of the Americas (NOTA) is comprised of over 1200
geophysical stations (GPS/GNSS, borehole strainmeter + seismic) that span
Alaska, the lower 48 states, Mexico, Central America, and the
Caribbean. Field Engineers working with Polar Programs may travel up to
three and a half months per year in direct support of Polar projects,
including in Alaska, Greenland, and Antarctica.
