Job opportunity:  The Regional Air Quality Modeling Section at California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a position of Air Pollution Specialist. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team to provide air quality modeling support for the development of State Implementation Plans, as well as other regulatory and scientific activities at CARB. The most qualified candidates will have master or doctorate level experience in the atmospheric sciences, environmental science/engineering or a related field, demonstrable experience in applying regional and/or global scale chemical transport and meteorological models (e.g. GEOS-Chem, MOZART, CAM-Chem, WRF-Chem, CMAQ, CAMx, WRF and etc.) to study the formation and transport mechanisms for ozone and PM2.5, as well as experience using satellite data products in model evaluation and data assimilation. Experience in modifying and/or implementing chemical mechanisms in chemical transport models is also highly desirable. In addition, strong programming skills are critical for this position.
